Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered below, or if you require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

When am I required to pay for my session? Half of your payment is a non-refundable deposit which is required up front to save the date for your shoot; the other half is due by the day of the shoot. Mini-sessions are required to be paid in full up front, this payment is non-refundable.

How can I pay for my session? Deposits are paid online via any major credit or debit card while reserving your session date. The remaining balance should be paid via cash, check, or Venmo at the time of your session.

What is this discount I am seeing for "add-on" sessions?  I offer my clients a discount when two session deposits are submitted simultaneously. For example: maternity and newborn, elopement and one year anniversary, this years family session and next years, etc. The add-on session is considered the lowest priced of the two, if there is a price difference. Add-on discounts do not apply to mini-sessions.

When will I receive my photos? Processing time is 2-3 weeks from the session date. If ever I am able to finish your photos earlier, I will do so. However, 2-3 weeks is the average and what you should expect/plan for.

How will my photos be delivered? Your photos will be delivered via instant download from your private proofing gallery on my website.

Am I allowed to share my photos on social media? By all means, please do! I only request that you tag and give photo credit to Leahana Byrd Photography when you do so. Bonus points if you use my hashtag, #thebyrdistheword.

Do I need to have a chaperone present during my shoot? You are only required to have an chaperone if you are under 18 years of age, or if you bring a pet to the shoot (someone to help look after it). If you are underage, your chaperone must be a parent/guardian, NOT just anyone over 18. If you are not required to, but would like to have a chaperone anyway, you are more than welcome to bring one as long as they are not a distraction.

What is digital retouching? Digital retouching is mostly a process where things like blemishes or stretch marks are removed from an image in order to show you looking your best. Eyesores, such as signs at a park, or other distracting background elements, will also be removed from images. Color correction, adjustments to exposure, etc. may also be applied. I will email you a before and after example upon request. If there is something you do not want removed from an image (like a scar with personal meaning) you MUST tell me ahead of time, because I retouch all of my images.

Do you offer a referral incentive? Yes, all clients who have already completed a session with me receive a $50 credit if someone they referred also books a session. This credit can be applied to a future shoot you are planning, or used toward photo books, prints, etc. Please inquire for further details.
